Starting to Blog

I have now been visiting prisoners in jail and state prison for a few months. Sometimes I have left a meeting and come home or gone to a different meeting and wanted to talk about or at least record my experience. I called my friend Alicia and she suggested I start a journal. Since I am digitally oriented, my handwriting is bad, and since I lost a lot when I lost my journals, I decided to come here. It may turn out to be a little too public, but maybe that will be "a good thing," as Martha Stewart, a former prisoner, is fond of saying.

I invite you to read, add to, critique, comment on, or correct my ramblings as you see fit. And if you should feel called to prison ministry, contact your own congregation's prison ministry, or contact Cephas, Rochester Interfaith Jail Ministry, Prison-Reentry-Aftercare-Ministry, JPC or any number of great avenues for answering the call. Check out the SMART website (SMARTNY.org) for contact points.
